I realize this topic isn’t related to small dog training, however I feel it’s an extremely important topic that affects all dog and cat owners. So I hope you’ll consider tossing your hat in the ring some small way in an effort to help control this growing problem.
Have you been reading the news about dogfighting? It seems as though everyday I read something more disgusting than yesterday.
Today has been different. I read something uplifting today about a young lady raising money to stop dogfighting.
Philadelphia student Morgan McCafferty doesn’t do anything halfway. A high school senior at the top of her class, Morgan received a school assignment to do a service learning project that would bring about some form of social change. Seizing the chance to make a meaningful impact in her community, she decided to organize a 5K race as a fundraiser for The HSUS’s End Dogfighting in Philadelphia campaign. ~ Humane Society Race to End Dogfighting

I don’t know if spaying/neutering more dogs is the answer to our growing pet shelter crisis, but I do believe it could reduce the collective emotional pain currently being felt throughout the canine community. The total number of dogs being euthanized each and every day is an absolute tragedy.

Over 100 small breed dogs recently rescued from a puppy mill in Missouri will be available for adoption beginning at 10 am Friday, September 10.

Tabitha Cooke hopes to bring her four-legged miracle (seizure alert dog) home by October and you could help make it happen.
